From ISMAR2010
Submission Guidelines
You can find the call for papers and topics for submission here. Any submission should preferably address the theme of the conference, through one or more of the topics listed in the CFP.
For this year, we will accept the following categories of submissions:
Papers/Posters
These are published papers, long (up to 8 pages) or poster (up to 2 pages) contributing to the advancement of the usage of AR/MR in Arts, Media and Humanities.
Papers and posters will be published in the conference proceedings (but are also archived in a scholarly digital library). Long papers are presented in front of the audience (15-20 mins) and the Posters will be presented in a poster format (Poster session).
Panels
A panel will focus on and discuss about the place of AR/MR technology, ideas, controversial issues, or unsolved problems in the Arts, Media or Humanities community. A panel will provide more interaction with the audience through a common topic presented by recognized speakers in the field. The panel will be presented during the conference. Proposals for panels are up to 2 pages.
Art Installation/Showcase
Arts, Media and Humanities demonstrations, art installations and technology showcase will be exhibited during the conference. The installation and showcase will be open to the public for two days of the conference with two dedicated sessions for the audience to see the work.
Tutorial/Workshops
Tutorials provides opportunities to share skills, knowledge on a topic that is relevant to the Arts, Media and Humanities community. A tutorial can be either half day or a full day. Tutorials and Workshops will follow a similar submission and selection process to the general ISMAR Tutorial and Workshops.
The full submission guidelines are described below.
Important Dates
- Submission (extended deadline): May 31, 2010
- Notification: July 24, 2010
- Camera-ready copies: August 21, 2010
Submission Categories Guidelines
PAPERS
we will accept the following categories for paper submissions:
- Full-length papers: up to 8 pages. A Long paper presents a significant contribution to the field, and can be an accomplished work, a discussion or a theoretical contribution to the field.
- Posters: up to 2 pages in length. A Poster can be a work in progress or a minor contribution to the field.
Papers must be formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society VGTC authoring guidelines (http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~vis/Tasks/camera.html) and submitted electronically as PDF documents. ISMAR uses a single-blind reviewing process. Thus, authors and affiliations may be mentioned.
As part of the submission you will be able to chose a major topic (arts, media and humanities) and a list of associated keywords. If you submit for the Art section, two images should be part of the submission, and videos are highly recommended.
Submission Rules
a. Papers and posters must be written in English.
b. A submission can only be submitted under one program (Science&Technology or Arts,Media and Humanities) and under one category (paper or posters). You must not submit the same material simultaneously to different programs or categories.
c. Previously published work may not be submitted, nor may the work be concurrently submitted to any other conference or journal. Such papers will be rejected without review.
d. Authors may include supplementary materials (such as a video) with the submission, and such materials are highly encouraged if they provide evidence of the claimed contribution. Videos should not be longer than 5 minutes, and the total size of all submitted materials (including the PDF doucment) must be under 50MB. If you include a video, also include a text file describing what codec you used to create the video. Videos should be playable by either the current Windows Media Player or Apple Quicktime player. It is preferable that your video be playable by these standard players without requiring additional codec installations. If you require a special codec (e.g. DivX), make certain that you include instructions on how to find and install that codec. If the reviewers cannot play your video file, it will reduce the chances of your submission being accepted.
e. The submission should include all information necessary to evaluate the paper and must not ask reviewers to go to web sites or other external information sources, since that may jeopardize the anonymity of the reviewers. Submissions that require external sites will either be returned for correction or rejected without review.
All materials will be submitted electronically through the Precision Conference website at: https://precisionconference.com/~ismar/.
If you already have an account with that system, please use that account to submit materials. Otherwise, create a new account. After login, select Make a new submission to ISMAR 2010 Papers/Panels Arts, Media and Humanities.
